Repost: Creepy Crawlers TV Commercial

CreepymanualCreepy_1"Creepy Crawlers was the original Thing-Maker toy and was full of nifty and tiny creatures for children to make in various colors. The original set (if you can find one in mint condition) came with clear plastic for insect wings which you could glue onto the dragonfly, bee, and other flying insect bodies." They're still making 'em, buy one here or in the new Bedazzled Toy Store in the right hand sidebar.

Spike at Bedazzled has a Creepy Crawlers TV commercial. I had one of the orginal Creepy Crawlers kits when I was a kid. I think it might have been the best toy I ever owned. Nearly forty years later, I can clearly remember the wonderful smell of Plast... [Read More]

Here is another similar product from the good folks at Mattel. This was one of my favorite childhood toys. The Strange Change Machine, was a heat chamber that would transform cubes of plastic into creatures, and (the best part!) allow you to return them into cubes from whence they came in a crank driven compactor that would imprint the Mattel logo upon it. The creatures were cool, dinasaurs and such. I still remember the smell of the hot plastic and the hours of fun and imagination that went into it. Thanks mom and dad! Not many toys since have had such a fantastic fun.

I had a ThingMaker and three different sets of molds: the Creepy Crawlers, some groovy flowers, and a set of dual molds that created army men, munitions and tank treads. The army set came with a giant squeeze bottle of olive drab Plastigoop and a smaller one of black. I remember being so eager to create my plastic army that if the molds weren't perfectly dry after a batch, the soldiers emerged all spongy and full of holes, as if they were pre-blown up or riddled with shrapnel. It was a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon, but I remember feeling vaguely nauseous after spending all day with that goop.

I can't believe that you took down the commercial you had posted. I've been looking everywhere for the lyrics to the main jingle that they always sang in the "Creepy Crawlers" commercials, but to no avail.
Do you think you might be able to send me a copy of this video via the e-mail I have posted, or at least tell me what the lyrics are? I'd be most appreciative.
