This appears to be Os Mutantes in a TV commercial for Shell. If anybody knows anything more about this, I'd love to hear it.

UPDATE: Reader Gabriel Klinger fills us in: "There was a Shell ad that featured the Os Mutantes song "Algo Mais" (which was commissioned specifically for the ad) but this is not it. This is a clip from what appears to be a documentary about Os Mutantes with scenes from their music video for "Don Quixote". The narration, in Portuguese, tells us some biographical details about the groups three members." Thanks Gabe!

they really made a jingle to the shell company.

I've never been able to work out how or why a group as subversive and genuinely inspiring as Mutantes ended up doing a jingle for a company like Shell. It's heartbreaking really.

There are five Shell Oil ads with Os Mutantes currently on view at the Tropicalia exhibit at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Each parodies at different movie genre: silent era, Western, surfer, '60s Mod, gangster. They're clever and funny but are used to illustrate the end of the original Tropicalist period.
