Karl Rove is on the roof, and they can't get him down
Jeez, this Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson "Traitorgate" thing is really heating up.
I'm not a religious guy, usually, but this stuff is almost restoring my faith in God. It's really all coming apart for the Rethuglicans. Many of the major figures of the party are under indictment, or soon will be. Iraq is finally acknowledged to be a disaster. The economy is fucked. The conservative base is finally pissed about something (The Miers nomination). Bush is on his way to being the least popular president in history. What could possibly happen at this point to turn things around for him? I don't even think another terrorist attack could bring up his numbers at this point (although I'm sure it's something they're considering).
It's hard to know what to wish for. Do we impeach Bush? Then who would we end up with? Cheney? Condi? I think it's better that he finish out his term. Imagine the damage he can do to the Rethugs in 3 more years. He is destroying them, just like he's destroying the Army and the National Guard. I'm so glad Kerry lost (not that he wouldn't be a better president, but all of us with a brain know that the press would be going after President Kerry with all their "might", even if things were much better, instead of trotting out the "events have conspired against him." line like they're now doing for Bush. Nothing Bush does is ever his fault, evidently. See David Broder & The Newly-Minted "Bush The Victim" Narrative for more on this).
UPDATE: So this wingnutty site linked to this post under the heading "Giving up the pretense of caring about America." Including this brilliant comment:
"This guy really hopes the country goes to hell, just so Bush can be blamed"
Like, Bush had nothing to do with it. I'm just playing the "blame game". None of the problems in this country today have anything to do with George Bush. Circumstances have just "conspired against him". Also- where do I say I hope the country goes to hell? I said I hope George Bush stays in there for the full term because he is destroying the Republican Party. Sorry Wingnuts, The Republican Party is not America. But please continue to stand behind your man Bush, PLEASE! He's a keeper.

Funny, being gleeful in your perception that Iraq is a disaster and the economy is tanking sounds a lot like not giving much of a damn about America, but what do I know; I don't have the brain power to find constructions like "Rethuglican" particularly witty.
For what it's worth, Mr. B., I'll give you an analogy with training wheels to support Karol's thesis, which obviously went over your head: If you claim to love the car but hate the driver, cheering for a car wreck makes you look like an idiot.

Got to this site via the usual hysterical comments on Alarming News. The music stuff on this site is amazing. Will need to peruse it at home a bit more. The Pretty Things picture caught my attention.

You're hoping for failure in Iraq and economic failure at home. You're hoping for America to fail so that Bush could get the blame you feel he deserves. Again, if that's not America-hating then there is no such thing. What part do you want me to explain slower?

Not much I guess If you believe that it's just "My perception" that the war is a disaster and the economy is tanking. It's the "perception" of most of America. Go read a poll. And there you go again, confusing Republicans with Americans.
"I don't have the brain power to find constructions like "Rethuglican" particularly witty."
Whatever. Bet you love Rush and all of his witty insults for Democrats. You can dish it out but you can't take it.

Enjoy the mess your hero Bush created. But I forgot, nothing is his fault. I guess it's all my fault for noticing.
I'm not hoping for disaster. Disaster has been here for a long time. I'm just glad people are finally noticing the disaster.

Hating Bush and hating what passes for a "Republican" in this day and age is not the same thing as hating America. You are not America. What part of that do you need for me to explain slower?
Just get used to the fact that the next 3 years are gonna be a nightmare for your party. It ain't my fault. It's Juniors' fault (and your fault for supporting him I guess).
He's failed upwards as far as he could, it's gonna be all downhill from here.

Again, it's one thing to hope for Republican failure. Hope away, it's pretty much all your side has got. I still think we'll have the House and the Senate and likely the presidency in '08. It's quite another thing for you to be gleeful about any American failings. Which, you are.
And Bobby, I'll try to limit my 'hysterical' comments. After all, if you disagree, I must be wrong.

You mean Bush's failings?

Actually, you'd lose. But then, we wouldn't want to break your streak, would we?

You hate Rush?
What "conservative" commentators do you like?
