I'm very shocked and saddened by the death (in NYC of all places) of Nikki Sudden, half of one of my favourite duos of all time, The Jacobites. On my recent covers LP "Stars After Stars After Stars" I covered not one, but two songs originally recorded by them. And the cover art featured a handwritten and autographed Jacobites set list from a re-union show I went to in London back in 1994 (I rode a bicycle from Battersea to Islington in the rain to see them). I was actually in email contact with Nikki (and Jacobites partner Dave Kusworth) around the time of the record's release and was so happy that they liked my versions of their songs. My sincerest condolences to all of Nikki's friends and family. Nikki's brother Epic Soundtracks, another brilliant songwriter, passed away a few years ago as well.

Hello mate,
first of all, hands up for doing such a great job with Bedazzled, I am a regular visitor and enthusiast.
Now, onto Nikki Sudden. I went last Wednesday to the hommage gig the Jacobites, the Vibrators and my friend Mark Mullholland set up for Nikki at the 12Bar in London. It was a very strange atmosphere as you can imagine, this was meant to be Nikki on stage playing with them... but there was a lot of emotion, some beautiful songs played, both from him or Epic, and we raised a lot of pints to his memory. Mark Mulholland delivered a fantastic, sensitive solo performance and then the Jacobites took the stage for about 2 magnificent hours.
His family was there as well as his old mates and yeah, you are right, he will be missed...
peace

Sorry mate, just found out your comment now. Yes of course Dave Kusworth was on stage with the Jacobites, he was the one who sang most of the songs.
