Fantastic clip! Thank you for posting this. I saw it broadcast live when I was in high school and seeing it again today (like 30 years later) was thrilling. A real treat... Sly & the Family Stone's infectious exhuberance, plus the greatest medley of their hits ever on Ed Sullivan... in far happier times (oh, wait a minute this was during the Nixon years, wasn't it? Nevermind.) Thanks xoxoxoxo

Yo Spike,
If there was any music that epitomized my childhood experience, it was Sly and the Family Stone. If I had anything to say about it, I'd make every kid listen to the song "Stand."
Thanks for these, and keep it up. Did the DVD include any of the Mike Douglas Show appearances where the the audience seemed clueless and intimidated?

This is a great performance that would easily wipe out that out-there image from last month's Grammy Award tribute.
Keep up the good work.

Wow, what a performance. That clip made me smile! It's amazing to think today what was involved in creating a tight live tv performance, without pitch correction, backing tracks, and other electronic "helpers" that exist today. That was raw talent.
