Cannabis Chemical 'Helps Heart'

Those hippies at the BBC are reporting that Cannabis Chemical 'Helps Heart'

"A chemical in cannabis can help ward off strokes and heart disease, scientists believe.

Swiss researchers found THC, one of 60 cannabinoids in the drug, helped stop the narrowing of arteries to the brain and heart in a study of mice.

But the team, from Geneva University Hospital, said smoking cannabis did not produce the same effect.

However UK experts warned more research was needed before firm conclusions could be drawn."

If you're in NYC, please come down to the Lakeside Lounge tonight to see the Spike Priggen Band featuring: Chris Erikson and Greg Beshers on guitars, CP Roth on bass and  "Eddy" Zwieback on the drums. We'll be doing songs from all my LP's (including the upcoming "There's No Sound In Flutes"). It's my last gig until the CD comes out at the end of the summer.
