I've had a lotta requests to repost this. I've also added a second version from French TV.
"While French record
production in the early 60’s remained dominated by the "Yéyé" movement
(a soft style of French rock’n’roll), Polnareff’s catchy melodies were
more in keeping with American hippie groups such as the Mamas and the
Papas. Polnareff’s divergence from mainstream French style was never
more in evidence than on his 1966 hit "Love Me Please Love Me". The
song’s overtly romantic melody and famous piano intro was pure
Polnareff." Biography continues here

The Scopitone is a little glitchy at the top-sorry.

That was quick! Wonderful. The thought of those women in the cut scenes looks like it's terrifying him!

Thanks for the link. However, I don't mean to nit pick, but it should be known that footage of Polnareff without his sunglasses is not such a rare thing. Before he began sporting the glasses due to his ailing vision, he was photographed and filmed many times. You can catch some old pictures of him in many vintage French music mags, or on some television music shows where he was a regular guest performer (the latter are becoming more and more available througout the Internet). He was very well known and popular in France before the glasses became his trademark look.
