Yep. Same guy. As a former Mouseketeer also, Paul went on to write a not-so-flattering book on Disney, then worked for awhile as a pulp novelist in the seventies. Eventually he became a tireless advocate and champion of the rights of child performers with his organization, A Minor Consideration.
