Some think his name is "Mr. Eraserhead", but I prefer to call him "Unknown Artist". Doesn't ANYBODY know who this guy is?

'Mr. Eraserhead' is more than likely Wayne Cochran, pre-white pompadour.

I have been aware of this Scopitone for years and have always loved it. geo50000... THANK you for finally identifying this singer. I think you're right, he really looks like Wayne Cochran.

It ain't Wayne Cochran, sorry to say. He already had that hairdo and was making records when this video was made, for at least 6 years. I cannot find a photo of him without that hairdo, he seems to have had that hairdo since at least 1962, this video is more like 67, 68.
It is no one that is famous, or semi-famous, or who's name you would have heard before, of that I am sure.
I'm surprised there isn't SOMEONE out there who actually knows, because they were there at the shoot, or worked for the production company, but I don't think anyone is gonna guess who it is. It's not guessable. If there is somebody out there that actually KNOWS who this is, for a fact, please chime in.

OK, maybe it's not Wayne, but the facial features of 'Mr. Eraserhead' match Wayne's almost perfectly - (not to mention the somewhat dodgy pitch of the Mr.E's voice)
Also, this Scopitone had to have been shot in 1965, as it appears to have been filmed at the same location and date as the Danny & The Memories' Scopitone of 'Land of 1000 Dances'; Danny Whitten is seen as a dancer in the 'High Boots' Scopitone, at :32. The dances mentioned in 'High Boots' -The Dog, The Swim, etc. are all circa 1964-65 - also, there is a dancer with a hideous green jacket (the same guy)in both videos. Billy Talbot's (a member of both Danny & The Memories & Crazy Horse)website confirms that "Land" was shot in 1965. I still think it's possible that either Wayne possibly decided to ditch the white pomp for this Scopitone - after all, it has to be a wig -
or he was somewhat embarrassed by the song
and did it under another name.
The official CC Riders website does not acknowledge this song or Scopitone performance, but it wouldn't be the first time that a performer did a 'one off' for a low budget operation.
I'll bet an e-mail to Mr. Talbot might solve this 'Scopitone mystery'
