Written by Allen Toussaint. I've gone through my whole life thinking this was the Staples Singers...Anybody have any idea what TV show this is from?

I'm pretty sure this was the old PBS "Soundstage" in 1974..

I believe this 1974 performance was recorded in Europe. (The YouTube poster, fritz51326, lives in Europe; probably Germany.)
The four Pointer Sisters did record a PBS Soundstage performance for airing in December 1974. However, that PBS series, produced by WTTW in Chicago used a very open stage with copious cut-a-ways of the live audience that does NOT resemble this clip. This stage has a generic rock design with posters for "Roxy Music", "Lonnie Donegan" and a few too blurry to read. You can find a Pointers clip from the same era on YouTube that DOES look like the WTTW Soundstage set.
Fritz51326 also posted other Pointer's performances from the same show and their rendition of Lamberts, Hendricks and Ross' classic Cloudburst is mis-identified as "Cloudbusters" which leads me to believe there also was a language barrier present.
