I purchased this LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player on Amazon about 14 months ago (November 5, 2009). Yesterday, apropos of nothing, it stopped working. I went to check out the reviews on Amazon for this product and was kind of shocked to see that almost all of the recent reviews are along the lines of:
"Broke after a year"
"DIED 1 year, 1 month, to the day! But I was always gentle!"
"Died After 1 Year!"
"Dead"
"Broken"
"Warranty woes"
"Lasted less than two years"
"Whirring sound = end of the line? I'd say so
"Warning: Hot player"
"RIPOFF"
Just got off the phone with customer service and they're not willing to do anything for me. Don't buy anything from LG. As far as I'm concerned they're making these things to die on purpose just out of warranty.

Philiips are a burn also.

We had to replace our DVD player (sorry, can't remember the make) after using it to watch less than 100 movies. More fallout from an economy which embraces selling everything at prices which prohibit quality.

Remember, LG used to be known as "Gold Star". Sound familiar? There you go.
