Peppermint Trolley Company "Trust".mov
On Upbeat! I guess...
Written By Paul Williams & Roger Nichols
Here's a great Peppermint Trolley Company page.
Check out the comments for some background from Danny Faragher of The Peppermint Trolley Company. Here's an interview he did on Luxuria Music.

Funny to think that Paul Williams and Roger Nichols got sucked into the Sargent Pepper mania. Or maybe the didn't, maybe PTC bent the song to fit the mold. And it was only a few years earlier that everyone wanted to sound like Dylan. Where did they get the Trolley reference out in Redlands? The only trolleys out there would've been loaded with hay. Nice crafted songwriting and producing, whatever the lightweight results. Thanx for posting.

Those peppermint pants are a real touch. Got to hand it to Paul Williams. He was one heck of a song writer. Never heard anything I didn't like.

We cut this song in July of 1968, at C.P. McGregor studio in L.A. Paul and Roger were present in the studio as we recorded; Paul singing the scratch vocal, and Roger playing piano alongside my clavinet. My brother, Jimmy Faragher is singing lead, and Chad Stuart arranged the strings and horns. To learn more about the band, visit the Official Site of Danny Faragher. http://www.dannyfaragher.com
