These type of syndicated country western programs were very popular in the 60's and were usually seen on Saturday afternoons. They were produced very cheaply, but the musicianship was always first-rate, and the stars sang "live" to a very appreciative audience. No pretense whatsoever.
It's great seeing Skeeter Davis perform. She keeps looking down like she was sneaking a peak at the lyrics sitting on her lap. Hmm?

That hairdo wass crazy popular with female country singers in the 60's. I swear that every other video of a country chick performing back then features that same exact hairdo.
