The Motions were the TOP Mod Dutch band, featuring pre-Shocking Blue leader Robbie Leuwen on lead guitar... They were regular visitors in Paris alongside fellow countrymen the Outsiders, so as such they were invited to perform on quite a few French TV programs...
Right prior to becoming arch UK Psych band, Art, then the more reknowned late sixties Heavy band Spooky Tooth, the VIPs were a very Popular mod band active in the French Club circuit... hence, a lot of footage of the band comes exclusively from French stages and TV!
Top Dutch Mod band the Motions were frequent visitors in Paris, playing at the famous Locomotive club like their fellow countrymen, the Outsiders... They were like the "Small Faces" of Holland only they weren't small and spung out of the Beat scene; they featured future Shocking Blue leader and guitar hero, Robbie Van Leuwen (Exclusive French Tv footage!)
Modsters The Thoughts had the hit with this Ray Davies' composed Beat classic, inspired by the Shel Talmy produced 1966 novel of the same name : "All Night Stand" written by Thom Keyes, about life on the road for a typical Liverpool Beat band... Pre-Fleetwood Mac band, the Kinetic are of course famous for their Pop-Mod Psych classic: "Suddenly Tomorrow"... They had one French only LP also in 1967 on Disques Vogue (Antoine et les Problèmes, Dutronc...); like English expats, the future Blossom Toes, The Ingoes, they were regulars on the Paris Club circuits.

This LIVE gig was shot during the First International Pop Music Festival in Paris Palais des Sports in June 1st/ 1967; the VIPs are introduced by famous Radio Caroline DJ, le Président Rosko (in fact Boris Pasternak's son)! The band performs "My babe" and "Stagger Lee" during this show...
